  The DataKey is immune to magnetic and radio frequency interference. Transaction and other applicable data is stored on our convenient Data Information Key. Easy to program and use, the DataKey uses EEPROM (electronically erasable programmable ROM) technology with data storage, 1000 times greater in capacity than magnetic cards. The key becomes a portable database carrier which records mileage, tank capacity, fuel type and more. The DataKey utilizing 1K and 16K bit serial memory chips is reliable, durable and constructed of high impact composite materials to ensure protection of the memory chip. The chip in the key can be read for information and information written back to it. Therefore, it is reprogrammable remotely and perfect for building loyalty programs as it offers a declining balance feature for a pre-paid key program. The 16K chip key is utilized as a transfer key, working much like a floppy disk, to remove transactions stored in an MCU that is not communicating with the host or remote site processors, or operating off line or on a truck. Information captured in the transfer key can be uploaded into the system by using an on line MCU or back in the fleet office at the computer. This is a patented and exclusive feature of the MegaTrak automated accounting system.
